I woke up slightly sad today. (Which by the way is the worst thing in the world, to wake up sad) It's because my favorite Rachael Adair and her husband Dan moved away from us to Ohio for dental school. I haven't known her for that long, but somehow I feel like I've known he forever. I wasn't too happy about moving back to Rexburg this summer, but Rachael and a few other girls have made me feel so blessed to be living here right now. It definitely isn't where you live, but who you live with.

I'm so excited for Rachael and Dan and that they're moving on and doing what they want to do. I hope there's a good long boarding hill in Ohio, but I do know that our hill is going to feel a little empty

Bear Lake numero uno

We FINALLY got a chance to go to Bear Lake. My brother, his wife, and their 4 adorable kids drove up from St. Louis to visit.

Before all the kids were ready to go R and I hiked up to Bloomington Lake. R hasn't gotten the tour yet and I figured it was about time he did.

We did a little cliff jumping

We were getting ready to leave and R decided he wanted to try to rope swing. We waited in turn (there was a young women camp up there). One of the priesthood leaders was an idiot and decided to climb up in the tree and jump. Bad idea. the rope got caught on the branches and stopped swinging forward. The guy fell in about a foot of water and broke his leg. We were all watching/groaning in horror watching the entire event. I got scared and yelped "Oh Sh*t" rather loudly, in front of the entire young women's. Yup it was awkward. We left in a hurry but definitely got some forest rangers to make sure he was fine and could make it out of there.

After we met the family at the lake. Love love love my family and the lake

My beautiful mom who would freak if she knew her picture was on my blog.

My adorable niece Gabbie. She is a girly princess who is always dancing around on her tip toes

R started building us a sand castle mansion. I want to move in. He made the amazing walls and I helped decorate. One day I will live in a castle of shells.
One day...

To a wonderful day at the beach
I love you
I miss you
See you soon!

Camping

This was about a million years ago, but I've been so busy and my pictures have been stuck on my camera forever. Yea for finally getting them.

We went camping with a bunch of our friends. We've been chilling with all these guys this summer. I love them. They make me happy and they make me laugh. What else do you need on a summer evening?

Justin Hackworth

Justin Hackworth just sent me some picture of me and my love at our sister's wedding. I love weddings because they're beautiful, but I also Love weddings because amazing photographers, such as Justin Hackworth, take your picture and then you get to enjoy that beautiful moment forever.

Lab Rat

I know it's been forever people. I'm sorry for those of you who love me and check my blog on somewhat of a regular basis. First off, it's finally sunny and beautiful outside and I just haven't had the desire to sit in by the computer. Secondly, sadly I have been working more at Carino's Italian grill. That place wipes me of my energy and makes me less ambitions and I desire to lay in bed or on the couch and watch The Price Is Right while munching on some cinnamon toast.

Right now I am actually doing a clinical research study where I am the ginny pig. I am getting paid pretty good money. Money I would not be able to make at Carino's. Money that will allow my husband and I a month of leisure in August. A month I can only day dream about while being forced to a bed, with a random room mate (who thankfully is normal and very sweet), being stuck with needles ever half hour, and having to fast when they want and eat huge nasty eggs and whole milk for breakfast without shooting them back up. Oh just think of the money Chelse....... the money.

The bright side is I'm going to have some time to get things done while cooped up in this room of mine. For starters I've been wanting to read Eat Pray Love forever and never have taken the time. I am now on page 100 and love Elizabeth Gilbert's writing. Her analogies are priceless. Also I brought paints and a canvas. Might be a bit hard since the iv is in my right arm. It's hard enough just typing. Maybe tomorrow. But yea, I am catching up on my blog and we all know that's the most important.

Shoot, I don't have my pictures.... This will never do. I can't tell the story without showing the goods! But look forward to 4th of July in Bear Lake, wake boarding in the biggest rain storm known to Riery Reservoir, and camping with my few fav friends. But even without those picturesI can let you in on a little secret. I am starting a new blog. A design blog. I keep looking at all these blogs where the ladies blog about beautiful things and beautiful places. They surround themselves with beauty, and it's their JOB! I want that. I can do that too I think. It might be harder living in rural Idaho, but I'm going to at least give it a go. I need your help. Please comment on things you like or maybe with ideas of something you would like to see. If I don't know you I would love to get to know you. Be a follower and help me get this thing started. As soon as I have the blog up and running I'll give you the link. As of now keep spreading the sunshine. I can't wait to join you in 32 hours

Sunshine in San Francisco

We took a trip to San Francisco. Amazing. Artistic. I love a new place. We originally went for my sis-n-laws reception and to go through the temple with her. Yea for Ashley and Alden getting married tomorrow.... and yea for love.

The love birds at their reception

Besides the reception we had a few days for sight seeing. We drove around San Francisco. That place it an artistic haven. Every side shop and house and door was beautiful full of creativity. I wish I could have taken a picture of every shop I walked by.

Loven at the Golden Gate

We went and walked by the bay. Loved it of course. I love any body of water bigger than a bathtub. But it was beautiful. I could go for a morning stroll there every day.

breakers making so cash by the bay

R, Hayden, and I hiked down this huge mountain you'll see in the next pictures in sandals (scary) and walked on this beach. It was so much fun. There was so much metal and such washed up on the shore. There was a car, heaps of metal, legos, and more. Hayden was our explorer and made a sweet instillation. Go Hayden.

We climbed that and look at the art in the sand

Sitting on the ledge before we headed down to the beach

The next day the whole family went to a baseball game at the Giants stadium. It was right no the water and had the most beautiful view. The game wasn't so bad either. They were playing the Oakland A's. My first major league baseball game but definitely won't be my last.

Me and Branae walking out of the game

Dear San Francisco,

I love you. You are beautiful. Hopefully we'll see you again soon!

His & Hers

At this very moment in time I am sitting in the basement of the spori (the art building at BYU Idaho) playing on the computer while R frantically tries to get his homework done. For a lack of anything else to do I will fill you in on our lovely lives.

His/

*R is crazy with school. He's getting into his graphic and photography major now and has lots on his plate. He's doing good so far and hopefully won't get too burnt out before the semester comes to an end.
* R got a new pair of Madix jeans in the mail. Thank you Whiskey Militia for your generous deals.
* While I was in Bear Lake with my mum R got to have a little R&R with his guys which consisted of going out to eat and lots of rock band. It was good for him, but not much accomplished.
* R is in love with his new phone and the sweet application that will let him download any song for FREE! I love this 2 since I now have the new Jack Johnson cd to listen to and memorize.
* R is looking very attractive in his sweats and wolf shirt. I'll make him howl later tonight....
* what Ry wishes he could do all day is long board. We've always liked to mess around but he's become obsessed, in a good way, and wishes he could skate all day. I wish he could too.

/Hers

* I started working back at Carino's since the finding a teaching job is nearly impossible. I was super sad, but thanks to all my friends there it hasn't been too bad of a transition. Thanks u all.
* I'm working on different projects, painting pictures, making books, fixing up old furniture and LOVING all the creativity time. I'm hoping to get my one big idea that takes off and makes me *RICH*
* for the time being I'm trying to get a booth at the Rexburg Farmers Market to sell my art for way to cheap, but would still be exciting to sell.
* I went back to my parents house with my mom in Bear Lake to help with yard work for the day/night. It was so peaceful and nice. I wish I could live there all summer.
* I bought some True Religion jeans from China... for $20. I'm not a huge fan of the jeans, but couldn't pass up the opportunity. I can't wait to see how terrible or wonderful they look. I'll keep you posted.
* R and I just got back from San Francisco. It was amazing. post coming soon I promise.

Memorial Weekend

I was waiting for to get more pics before I posted, but I'm just to lazy to get them all out. Over Memorial day a bunch of us went camping up by Grand Targee. Besides the snow in our camp ground and the 32 degree weather at night it was good times. Mostly our time was spent sitting by the fire, or if you're me sitting on the fire, chatting away.

The next day we all took our long boards and road down the Targee road. Everyone besides me is amazing. I'm a first timer and was really nervous. Ryley was super sweet and stayed with me the whole time helping me practice sliding and making me go faster than I really wanted to. I learned tons and it was actually way fun. I wish I had a picture of my pants because they are seriously shredded. Gone. Guess I'll be buying some patches and duct tape soon... sorry pants, but it was worth it!

To the Sea

Jack Johnson came out with his new cd this week. I know that some of you are sick of jack, but I won't ever be. I love his lyrics and his chill voice and the fact that he's a softie. He always has at least one song that is sweet and happy and it's my favorite. The lyrics go like this....

"From The Clouds"

Oh, you're such a pretty thing, I'll take you and I'll make you all mine.

I will steal you from this patient world that'll chase us, it could never take you back.

[Chorus]
We could watch it from the clouds
We can't stop it anyhow, it's not ours.
We could watch it from the clouds
We can't stop it anyhow, it's not ours.
It's not ours.

And I know you know me well enough to know I'm lucky to have you.
But all this just the little things, the words that I should tell you all the time.
You're so sweet to me when you beat me in doubles solitaire.
You're so sweet to me in a world that's not always fair.

[Chorus]
We could watch it from the clouds
We can't stop it anyhow, it's not ours.
We could watch it from the clouds
We can't stop it anyhow, it's not ours.

More that you feel
More your little heart will ache.
Love's the only thing that carries on
It's the only thing this world can't take.
This love is ours.
This love is ours.
This love is oooohoohoohoohoohoohoohooh.
This love is oooohoohoohoohoohoohoohooh.

Oh you're such a pretty thing, I'll take you and I'll make you all mine.

And the lyrics sound like this...

Happy Birthday R

This song must be played while reading this post.
Dedicated to R

R had his 25th birthday last Saturday. Crazy. It was a good day, well besides the crazy amount of snow that fell... The festivities really started at midnight when Ryley and Dusty went bridge jumping in a ridiculously freezing river. After we went to Dusty's house and played rock band well into the morning. After which we took a trip to the Idaho Falls Denny's because R got a free meal. Good times. We crawled into bed around 6:30 am. This made soccer practice at noon a little hard, but some how we made it.
Next on the list R opened his presents from me. He got some shoes, a plaid shirt, and hockey skates! I'm so grateful he liked them and I seemed to buy a good pair. (still a little nervous with our fiasco on Christmas) We were going to have a bbq in the park, but with the shady weather we went to his parents house so we could eat inside. We played a few games with our friends and family and then rocked some hamburgers.
After lunch I brought out the pinnate, which took me FOREVER to make. It was supposed to look like R. Can you see the resemblance? Well it didn't go quite as planned because it was lightly snowing when we took it outside and R decapitated it on his first hit. Oh well.
The day didn't end there. R blew out the candles on his mustache cupcakes. We took off and all went long boarding. Then to end the night we all went swimming until we were exhausted. Such a good birthday. You deserve it R! I love love love you!

Ryley, you are my best friend. I love you so much. I can't wait to celebrate every birthday with you forever!

Longboarding

R and I started sliding on our longboards as of late. So these videos make it look like we're going super slow and they're actually kind of lame, but I swear I'm going so much faster. Any way it's fun and hopefully we'll get much better and I'll stop being such a baby...

5.04.2010

photos of me

Ryley and Levi and I went to take pictures for their digital photo class. Sadly I was the model. I usually hate pictures of me, but Ryley took this one and I actually really like it. Ryley is getting better and better each day. He has some really great photos that I'll have to post. Oh and ps check out my hair... it's growing!

Paradise

I hate myself for not posting any more Hawaii pictures yet. These are a few that we took through the lens of our Seagull with a digital. I think the lens makes everything look so beautiful. I'm excited to get the film developed and see the surprises.

This was my first attempt with Ryley. I didn't get his face light enough but I still really like it.

Ryley's shot of me. Better than mine

Glorified Ashley Flake's bike.

The view of the ocean from the canal house

We had to get a classic shot from sunset beach for Ry's first Hawaii experience.

Work wOrk woRk worK

I've been job searching.

It BLOWS

.I've traved 7 hours to find out I didn't get the job
.I've sat for 1.5 hours to have a 12 minute interview for a position 50+ are interviewing for
.The only art job I've applied for hasn't even called me back because I missed their "secret" job fair
.Last but definitely not least. I had an interview to for a bank custodial job. They asked me to explain to them why I thought I was qualified for the position. hmmmm I do have a 4 year degree and I was trusted with 200+ students and their learning, but why does that make me qualified to sweep floors and dust desks? It was super depressing and degrading. Is this really the kind of job I get blessed with in Rexburg for 4 YEARS of school.
I think I'm no very happy.....

haWaii

I know I don't have all my pictures yet, (our computer is full and I can't even download them all!) but it's killing me not to post some pictures so here goes nothing...

This is Ashley Bowen. Loved her underwater camera

Ryley swimming out of a cool rock. I could never hold my breath that long

I really want one of these cameras. There were some great shots

After snorkeling we ate at Waialua Bakery which has the most amazing COOKIES I've ever tasted. And I'm not exaggerating

Ashley Flake on this amazing point overlooking Wiamea Bay

To be continued...
